In the darkest hours of the night
terrible dreams of incomprehensible
monstrosities accost me.
I quake violently with intense terror
at the destructive furor of their
fiery intensity.
A cold sweat breaks out bathing me
in a wet blanket of heart wrenching
fear as I watch the horrible pictures
flash across my sleepy mind, and wonder
when the turbulent distorted visions
shall come to an end.
At long last after what seems to me
to be an eternity of nightmarish
punishment for some misdeed that I'd done
I awake saturated with the cold realization
that my life is indeed in danger for sanity
has taken its leave of my life.
