Standing Still
To my son Clint on his 38th birthday love always Mum xxx
My boy is thirty-eight years old
Time passes by so fast
I blink, time`s gone yet still moves on
A second cannot last
It seems like only yesterday
You cuddled up to me
Took first steps, then off you ran
Oh where can that time be
Went off to school, then out to work
Married, children too
Now your children nearly grown
So time moves on for you
Such a funny thing is time
It stores up in our mind
Saving all the memories
Which we will later find
Take them out and gaze once more
Upon what once was here
Never lost time just goes on
And settles year by year
Upon our souls and in our hearts
With tender loving care
Time is real, but standing still
Time is always there
