The storm rages,
The winds scream and shriek around your brain,
Destroying your equilibrium
Battering your senses
Shredding any sanity you may once have had
Hurricane winds have broken your masts,
Shattered your rudder
Leaving you at the mercy of fate.
Cast adrift in storm tossed raging seas
Heading indomitably for the rocks of doom
Seeing their sharp ragged darkness,
Desperation takes over as you struggle against the tide
As grasping you tightly around your ankles
It pulls you inevitably towards the end
But, there is hope even in the darkest of hours
And reaching out towards that ray of light
A handhold you will find!
Keep paddling, don't give up,
You know this wind will blow itself out,
So hang on, grit your teeth and
Keep an eye out for the life belt,
I'm on the other end.
Until the day you say leave me alone,
Be sure I'm going to be alongside you.
Consider me a safe anchor
One in which to rest your weary soul
Then when you are ready
Walk on my friend and reach your goal
Only then shall I disappear into the mists of forgetfulness
To leave you in relative peace?
To forge again the resolve you need to continue
Alone once more upon your path
But never forget the light shining,
She will continue to guide you on your way
