a new era

~*Green with Envy*~

Fields of green
Where flowers grew wild
Oh how it's all changed
From whence I was a child
*
Bluebell filled meadows
You could almost hear them ring
Crocus daisies and daffodils
Tell of the arrival of spring
*
The red bushy tailed squirrel
Sadly are now in decline
The home carrying snail
Leaving a silvery slime
*
Rabbits with their bob tails
Leave their warrens to play
Now these are just memories
Of a bygone yesterday
*
Turned into housing estates
With roads made of tarmac
What once was a beautiful green
Is now a murky grayish black
*
