Phrase~painters And Poeteers

Sunrise at the Beach

Dawn splashes, light years, beyond the horizon.
Anticipation and darkened breezes raise goosebumps.
Is it bleaker than a second ago?
Sleep wages a non~retreating battle; flush with grayness.
There is no distinction between wave and sky;
but, the time is coming.
Pink, reticent and timely, finally, grace the
demarcation of Earth and Heaven.
What greatness awaits this day?
Whom might I meet?
Indigo and auburn skirt a golden halo;
hovering just below God's unseen smiling face.
Distant clouds are rainbows.
Sol punches through the infant menagerie with arms
as big as Mercury.
Warmth creeps as a shiver; from inside out.
A moment delivers a sun too bright to view.
Far too early, the process is complete.
Quiet tears, from a hidden place, streak down my cheek,
though, there was never any intent to cry.
The universe, once again, did not disappoint.
This morning was unique,
unparalleled with yesterday,
unequaled to tomorrow,
just like myself.
