Subrosa
The Mind's Metronome
For emotions can be the heaviest
Of all the fallen angels
And they can bring you so far down
Way below what you know is the ground
For the mind's metronome
Will go as fast as the symphony plays
From the mild and the serene
And to the thunderous and cacophonous sounds
To reach out my dearest friends
And to smash this box onto the ground!
Would be the greatest of gifts
To be presented to us now
I can not understand it
Understand how it can change so fast
With the speed of electricity
And the resulting fire that breaks out
To be able to feel no more
Is the epitome of a double-edged sword
There are so many emotions I want to feel
But I'm not sure the ratio would pay out
Of all the fallen angels
And they can bring you so far down
Way below what you know is the ground
For the mind's metronome
Will go as fast as the symphony plays
From the mild and the serene
And to the thunderous and cacophonous sounds
To reach out my dearest friends
And to smash this box onto the ground!
Would be the greatest of gifts
To be presented to us now
I can not understand it
Understand how it can change so fast
With the speed of electricity
And the resulting fire that breaks out
To be able to feel no more
Is the epitome of a double-edged sword
There are so many emotions I want to feel
But I'm not sure the ratio would pay out
