as i continue to slip and slide from the narrow to the wide,
vision becomes transparent and my wisdom
turns to ignorance; on the narrow everything was so clear,
but now that I've ventured to the wide my dreams seem far from my sight;
too many distractions, hood-rats with cloths painted on,
tempting my flesh to touch tick thighs,
i guess that's way the path's so wide;
i want to maintain and refrain from the temptation, but
my will is slowly weakening, my faith is depleting, my strength's decreasing
unable to sustain enough energy to fight the demon's beast
that are constantly nipping at my feet.
so as i battle for my soul along the perils of this extended road;
i realize that on my knees is the only way for my spirit to RISE!
