Looking Toward (Sestina) #468
Looking Toward God gave us rules that we ignored like love your neighbor, self adore, and keep on searching, looking toward the sky for Love and Light restored for, in these, He knew our reward would be our presence with the Lord. And, so, it happened, came the Lord as man to earth, of whom ignored, did not bestow His full reward to all, but, still, Redeemed, Adored, He gave new Life and life restored with hope of future looking toward. Like wolves, they came, were looking toward the capture of our loving Lord, but cowered when the ear restored to hearing and, then, soon, ignored those loved ones, frightened and adored, who fled – Their lives were His reward. Now, Judas sought his own reward when thirty pieces, looking toward the earth, was not as loved, adored as first he thought, because the Lord was, now, on trial and ignored, "My Kingdom here on earth restore!" The broken bond, the Truth restored that God's with man and man's reward was made God's plan and not ignored when we looked up, when we looked toward the cross of shame that held our Lord and made it clear that we're adored. Oh, won't you join me and adore the One who's risen and restored upon the Throne? He is the Lord! The Lord from whom comes our reward if we'll be strong and looking toward His coming that won't be ignored. I know the Lord who we adore will not ignore, but will restore, Himself, reward as we are looking – Looking toward. |
