Memories Stay
To my son John Paul on his 43rd birthday. Love you always Mum xxx
My boy is forty-three today
So many summers flown away
Remember just a tiny lad
Wanted to be just like dad
Suffered much but did not cry
Never asked the reason why
Grew up tough yet still so kind
The biggest heart you`ll ever find
Became a daddy loved his son
Then he watched his daughters come
Into this world and he`s so proud
Now a grandad shouts out loud
My little lad is fully grown
Now has memories of his own
Yet I have the memory
Of all he is and all he`ll be
You deserve the very best
Do not settle now for less
Store the moments in your soul
That is what will make you whole
Forget the past and start anew
Good luck in everything you do
Make it happen, joy is there
You only have to find the stair
Happy birthday, love you son
My oldest lad, a special one
As you wander down life`s way
Remember son that memories stay.
