The Gems of Autumn

I watch from the window
as sunlight plays across the trees.
and I behold that rainbow
rippling softly in autumn's breeze.

Yellow, orange, and red
caught against the sky so blue.
A myriad of colors in my head
the gems of fall in every hue.

Observing in peace and reflection
as a season arrives with all its beauty
and summer feeling my rejection
exits left to perform another duty.
