Upper Room At The Red Cow Pub - Tanya Levin
On this wet Sunday -
people sit and think -
drifting with the spirit -
unbottled - poured - and quick...
Echo hits the ear drums -
smiles and hand shakes - shift -
laughing - lurching - turning -
words all rise and lift...
We listen to the lightness -
not a single curse -
rather little chuckles -
vibrating into verse...
The lady talks and takes us
to a space somewhere -
in the midst of hill songs -
where ghosts and demons glare...
Clatter - plates and glasses -
background music blends -
back and forward shooting -
learning never ends...
Easy - breezy - lady -
freedom - fresh - unbound -
uncluttered - clear and truthful -
unmasking empty clowns...
Toxic god - suppressing -
intoxicating - cruel -
pulling - hiding - hurting -
treating kids like fools...
Beware of christian coffee -
sold to souls - half full -
mixed with unknown measure -
they say - with shots of bull...
Days of shine - all cover -
and hide the rough and spots -
little girls - so perky -
flaunting what they've got...
Recruiting - without telling -
what's behind the smiles -
catching those - unguarded -
and storing them on files...
All the pleasing people -
love to hold as one -
those with wit and wisdom -
are very quickly shun...
The lady tells her story -
digging deep and well -
sharing views with passion -
without a fear of hell...
