I found a green shoe box from when I was small
I used to play a lot with it I do recall,
I took off the lid and I looked inside
What I saw made my eyes open wide.
It was full of small boxes they were still there
My eyes disbelieving I could only stare,
Most were labelled of what was within
Except for those that were kept in a tin.
Child-like games with this box I would play
And it would pass many a rainy day,
I`d get lost in a world of make believe
It`s endless what a child`s mind can conceive.
Opening that lid took me right back in time
To being a small child and my playtime,
The years just seemed to roll away
Making it seem like it was yesterday.
