The Shelf In The Shop
The loud shouting words -
from the shelf in the shop -
hurl at my head -
and force me to stop.
I stand at command -
and fight back the force -
that pulls a fierce punch -
and knocks me off course.
I bend and I stretch -
then flip back a page -
and scan with my hand -
and hold back the rage.
The words rush in line -
tight and condensed-
hit at my heart -
full frontal and fresh.
The hate is too hot -
the pain is too strong -
the love is alone -
and always all wrong.
The sharp shooting words -
back and forth weave -
and beg me to stay -
then scream as I leave.
