In a blink you were gone
I blinked today and he was gone
In the distance i watched him fade
Alone again to face my music
Life's rained on my parade
Ive loved, I've lost, I've given all
Yes I've had plenty in return
But most of all i needed him
Him, that made my heart yearn
I could follow where hes gone
Trace every footstep and every road
But i shall stay in this old place
Be a princess without my toad
I will take what life may throw
No man shall wipe my brow
I'm quite happy to stay alone
To write like i am now
I blinked today he was gone
Now i face my life alone
Heartache comes in many forms
To the vulnerable and prone
I'm strong because you taught me well
My friend, my teacher, my rock
Yes i watched you vanish without a trace
Just like the ticking of life's clock.
