Haiti Cries
Poor, distraught and open wound
On land, in lives today seems doomed
Where tragedy would leave it's card
Of death, destruction where life is hard
Many buried where once they stood
Why are the cries in neighborhoods
On island struck by earth born quake
Sleepless are those scared and awake
Prayers go out to all in need
Many the mouths we'll need to feed
Compassion yours who reads this write
To help and bring back to them life
Death fills the air as Haiti cries
Carnage beyond ones mind will try
To fathom and to accept
Today the poor have nothing left
Your part in this will be to give
All that you can so others live
To rise again from great debris
Today whats left is all one sees
Children hungered before this came
Today hunger is lost with pain
Loss of life, loss so great
Will be forever known on this date
Please lend a hand to Haitian brother
Father, sister and too dear mothers
To children lost that have nobody
Today needing from everybody
Haiti cries do you hear her
Send her prayers, all you can stir
For in the end, God sees the hands
That stretched to help their fellowman
