Poetic-Verses

Ode To Alan.

I once met a man who's steps had twelve!
Struggled at work had no one to help!
He found his Savior ,it change his life
Made his children happy ,above all his wife.

He told me he had been around the world twice!
But free Rum and liquor just wouldn't suffice
He had to drink ,the problem got worse.
In the end it was a G-d awful curse!

He invited me over on the eve of my leaving,
To meet his friends ,his brothers revealing.
They spoke to me of love and wine,
And the communion of healing, that would come with time,

They all stood up, and surrounded my chair,
And circled me mumbling ,there hands raised in the air.
There prayers got louder as they closed in on me!
I had that feeling of fight or flee!

A calmness filled me as the "love" filled the room.
I will never forget that late Friday afternoon.
Like an animal who's wounded ,that no one could see,
That day they took the pain  away from me!

Now I ain't a “happy clapper,” and my views are in black and white!
But I left my mates house “strangely” different that night!
In thirty years I have never spoken of this,
But I owe my life to one.......... Alan grist……
thanks mate , were ever you are.
