Passing By

There you go,
passing by.
Just passing by.
No wonder this world is so cold.
It matters where we are standing.
I am not angry.
I am easygoing.
Don't you want to be a friend to me?
Don't you want to come and see
what I have to offer?
We are of the same age.
We even look alike.
When I am self-conscious of giving,
I feel cheapened about friendship.
So I am the better person.
I have nothing to buy a friend with.
You're just passing by.
It takes two to tango.
Friendship is not in your mind.
I have to learn the merits of a true friend
with another.
You didn't want to meet on common ground.
Life can be such a waste
when people don't feel the friendship they want.
Something there is that doesn't love a wall.
I am always willing to see clearly.
That's where friendship will be found,
straight ahead.
