We gratify our earthly needs.
Learn lessons from our human deeds.
But yet we are of two it seems,
One of failing and one who redeems.
Some touch upon a different plain,
Where frailties depart, so we might gain
A knowledge blessed and, oh, so wise
Experienced through innocence of inner eyes.
Of love and light and something more.
Of dust and ashes of times before.
We strive to gather together to teach
This wisdom beyond our earthly reach.
Guided to a simple place
Steeped in hope, a loving space
Where Divine resides for all to feel,
And in God's love we share and heal.
The earthly shackles that bind our being,
And blind the eyes we think are seeing.
Hearts which hold the hurts gone by
Without perception of knowing why.
Minds that are filled with human pleasures.
Forms limited only by their endeavours.
Lives confused by that we enmesh.
Concepts deeply hidden by human flesh.
So in our quest for Perfect Light,
May we understand and gain insight.
May each precious breath within our day
Inhale His guidance and open the way.
We thank the Lord and ask Him to guide
Our steps, so they never veer from His side.
And to pardon our human inadequacy
For all that we do and in all that we see.
