A New Agenda
Her own would come to bring an end
To her resolve that would not bend
To unpaid dues and compensation
It was her calling, representation
A nurse turned union rep would see
Her role to fill the many needs
Of those who took a vow to care
Their heart upon her sleeve she'd wear
Corporate agenda would drum her out
For having thoughts that would amount
To her demise but gain their own
One of their own, they would disown
Heartbreak would follow, crushed soul now weeps
Her twenty years under rug sweep
Kick to the curb, a travesty
They spat her out, oh the humanity
She won most wars that gave someone
Their right to earn that's every ones
She walked the miles in stormy weather
Tired yet stayed the course to better
Today The NYSNA has claimed
A victory, expense her pain
Now seeks refuge from what they gained
Jobless befriends one not the same
Corporate nature spares no one
Their dignity and work ones done
Yet in this state forged by their hands
Will rise the fallen they came to damn
GOD sees the all in all she's done
GOD knows the heart of everyone
Those who came and sold her short
Will reap whats sown in Heavens court
To my dear sister who gave her soul
To job once hers, take heart, take hold
What once was yours is now in hands
Of GOD who is you're biggest fan
You will triumph just wait and see
Your best He stores eternally
Do not lose faith for He now holds
The answers to what will enfold
A better you in state of mind
A blessed daughter, one of a kind
For you have nursed many a soul
Their names, your name, His book now holds
Dedicated to my Dear sister Maria who asked we write something for her.
This is what GOD said.
