Why can I not find the words sweet love once knew…
so I could tell of the truth in my heart ?
I still love her more than I have ever loved before
though so long we've been far apart.
I have searched this world for a love that's new
knowing many strange lands and lost love, short lived
every pathway walked always filled with life
but always taking of all that I give.
So many dreams have now come and gone
yet each day I remember her smile
her soft soft skin and her warm embrace
remains in my heart all the while.
I no longer cry, though my heart does weep
when thinking of all those long years apart
but now each day that's spent I can feel content
knowing tomorrow a new day will start.
