Poetic Verses
To a Retiree
So you have retired
Happily not expired
You have reached the stipulated age
No reason to lower the curtain on life's stage
You will still always have to contend
With many a problem
So remain always focused and readied
Don't let your mind be atrophied
Always be willing when called upon
For information, remember you are a veteran
Who knowledge and expertise
Has enlightened those you precede.
See yourself as the shining light
Whose illumination was just right
To brighten the path of the future
For those you indirectly tutor.
So don't see retirement as punishment
Or any form of banishment
Therefore it's all up to you
There are lots left that you can do.
