The Door To A Poets Heart
On hinges hung barely sometimes
Is what amounts to frame of mind
The moment heartbeat meets with thought
Where words are birthed all day one sought

The path taken will lead the way
Into darkness or light of day
Past sunrise and into dusk
The road quite long, their write a must

You may just see but not clearly
Before your eyes what they hold dearly
Then again you may just find
What you searched for takes too much time

It's not for the faint of heart
As it is made of many parts
Sentiment, anger and pain
Laughter endless, silence sustained

A quiet storm that once did thunder
Breaking of ice and warmth down under
Sometimes of wood or made of steel
A fleeing moment of mass appeal

Today it closed just one more chapter
Of Kingdom theirs and happily after
Insanity or lust for life
Dreams of old or of a pipe

They all will lead to those who try
To find the door and what's inside
Be mindful for where you tread
Are deep secrets most not spoon fed
Upon pages of soul one bares
Inside the poet who truly cares

So please do knock before you enter
As feelings deep you may just splinter
The door that leads to what you seek
Where heartfelt writes you'll get first peek
