Magic Man

I believed in this,
this harsh reality.
Living hard days and good days
is what we have.
So, come on in,
magic man.
Tell me where all the answers are.
I claim you to my own.
I want you to help me.
I beseech you.
You are a benefit to all men.
Although you tried to effect many changes,
elsewhere, you came up short.
I know that.
You are what we think you are.
One change can undo another.
Lower your expectations,
magic man.
Work on me.
The breadth of your actions does not matter.
Your assistance is not illusory.
A magician: a man who can intervene
and work wonders.
I am enough of a crisis
for you to resolve.
Play social worker just this one time.
Still, I am taking the small steps
and the giant steps.
If I can reach for an expedient,
I want you.
I pray.
You have exhibited caring.
I implore you to consider me.
