the mermaid in the irish sea
as i was sailing on the irish sea
i saw a mermaid in front of me
with flowing hair and a nice gold crown
bobbing in the water going up and down
with eyes that were bluer than the sky above
looking as peaceful as a dove
then she came and said follow me
then she took me out to sea.
i followed behind her and watched her tail
swimming as graceful as the whale.
she took me to a cove where she stayed
everything inside was gold inlaid
her own little palace in the sea
and she showed all this to me.
the tide was turning it was time to leave
as i sailed away from this make believe
so i set sail and headed for shore.
and i wont forget the things i saw.
where everything was peaceful and so free
