 Dear Church
Their drive from there to here is short
Shorter is still attention caught
By those who seek but do not find
The love and friends they had in mind

Their walk hampered by many things
Doubt some guilt but still more something
They thought would not be there with them
Alone, unloved stranger not friend

My eyes have viewed all that would come
To share the word with heart undone
As children mine have turned blind eye
Without hello or too goodbye

One or more we'll lose today
More lost than found than yesterday
For in my house are those who came
To be loved on, leave not the same

In haste many will look but not to them
For pew to sit no time to lend
A soul that thought someone would care
To hear what their frail heart now bares

This house of mine sometimes selfish
Seems like a place where the worthless
Become the least of things the most
Not spoken to treated like ghosts

In short dear church be so advised
I watch from throne, from Heavens sky
Mind all those who need to see
Me who lives inside of thee

Extend your hand, a hug with love
Speak to all you least thought of
For in my house many will come
But leave more lost we could have won
