In Arms Once Barren
His life was filled with many things
A wife challenged to deal with flings
All because she loved him then
Back then her cause was then was when
Children he loved, he'd call his own
Today broken today disowned
Would not see father now miles away
By court order, away to stay
His drinking binges and foul mouth played
The role he is and plays today
Former husband and father too
Kneeling regrets, what he should do
He never cried but cry he does
Asking himself, hung over buzzed
How did I let all this become
What now is life all but undone
He crushed the dreams and hearts of three
Living his life so perfectly
Oh so he thought but now he dwells
Making his bed, sleeping in Hell
Family goes on and runs into
A stranger now broken in two
Unknown to them until they see
All that is left on street daddy
His son now man would reach now down
To father his upon the ground
Reaching real deep into his heart
He whispers father come be a part
Of what was once but is today
Clean shave, sober, Gods hand made way
Forgiveness His, he stands now proud
Where once he walked, once not allowed
His wife would pass some years ago
Before he left and she let go
Of all the hurt he put her through
Loving him still last breath she drew
He now pays visits to where respect
Is payed to her with flowers left
Asking forgiveness again kneeling
To her and GOD, silent appealing
He now holds children that call him father
Today grander than once was farther
With kisses planted, vowing no more
Would he abandon what he adores
