I was lost and alone with no one to show me the way.
Try as I might the more I tried, the farther I went astray.
I turned within to find the truth, it was hidden just out of sight.
In the darkness, it glowed so dim, the never ending night.
Ever so slowly its radiance grew, as I understood my desire.
The more I learned the less I knew, it set my mind on fire.
Like a lion bound it tested its chains to set the knowledge free.
The harder I fought to break its hold the stronger it held on to me.
I released my grip and let my mind slip, deep within its fold.
'Why?,' asked I, then waited calmly, for an answer to be told.
'Not why, but who!' a voice inspired, 'Will make you quite insane.'
Is it heresy to ask the One the meaning of His Name?
My calm returned, I understood, the meaning of the night.
One walks the Path to know the Way, guided by the Light.
