Second Wind
The road traveled has led me to
The streets of nowhere and avenues
Many times passed but never this way
Paved paths once easy much harder today
Aged we have and fortitude
Has been His message of gratitude
Instilled in heart where gratefulness
Was never shown to Holiness
These cobbled streets have bumped and bruised
My tired feet we thought abused
But not like His who walked to save
A wretched soul, living once slaved
His feet would feel pain unlike mine
His walk would be to end the crimes
Upon a soul of selfishness
Mixed up, caught up in righteousness
This second wind that fills my soul
Brings back to Him a life grown cold
Who sought a better place to be
Without the one who bled for me
This second wind is yours too friend
Who walked the path of sin that bends
The truth of all the things to come
The need to grasp what you have done
Wish I could stretch and feel your heart
Across this page that seeks a part
Of second wind, you're very need
Of Him who rose, you are of seed
