INNOCENT LOVEIt can be shown in many ways. Yes I too wrote a book "Womb of the Same Mother." Perusing it I found this: Ghosts and Goblins are Vegetarians In a circle we sat in darkness On a starlit night The hills all around on fire--OH What a fright! Candle light, Beatles cover "Yesterday and Today" Holding butchered babies to slay The meek hid under heavy blankets for cover Each child told stories of their personal nightmares. This was fourth of July Lake Chelan A forest fire was surrounding the city. Adults turn all peered in the night aware Dark clouds and fire enveloping the moon On the roof heard the clattering of heavy silver spoons Inside a record player an eerie sound Teasing those scare all around Someone shouted, "The Grateful Dead!" But it was Alice Cooper screaming, "Wake up to my Nightmare!" Let the children not go to Bed, A voice cried in the night, "I eat Grandpas---!" Though frightened my Grandson in love said, "Not true, ghosts and goblins are vegetarians!" And trembling holding my hand said, "The End!" Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
