Poetry For Everyday People

Keep Cleaning House

I'm with you president Obama,
I believe in you,
you are facing
an enormous challenge
and one sided support,

but why are we
giving them an in?
when we know better,
when we care too much,

genuinely,

I know they left a big mess
and they won't own up to it,
I know it's more important for them
for you to fail than our country to succeed,

(they actually have the gull still to talk
about national security and terrorism
after 9/11 happened on their watch),

but back to reality,

Geithner?
not the move,
can't have a colleague,
a friend, wake up
and
regulate
the frat house,

"guys:  no more partying"?

he can help clean out
the empty kegs, but
the party's always on,

doesn't work,
did not work,
won't work,

let's ask him to
step down,

let's tax the s-h-i-t
out of that $145 billion
they pocketed,
100% with interest.

One last thing please:

why are we in two wars??
without raising taxes?
