Walls

Through the darkness I groped  in fear
My long seemingly devoid of and  feeling like they will tear
As I kept my back to the wall slowly climbing up each stair
Slowly and ginger I inched my way not know what was up there

Luckily I keep my hand out and kept  feeling and searching
Because  as the top there was nothing
What if I did not  climb up with great caution and care
I will be tumbling into the great depths of despair

When you build walls around you and sit  therein
Are you shutting people out or locking yourself  in?
Is it that fear of a relationship  to which we are all prone
So you therefore built a barrier and  called it your comfort zone.

In that little wall that you so readily construct
Your thinking and experiences on it walls abut
That would be the extent of you life's domain
Limited, shot and restricted but who is to blame

It is hard to survive with a mind so restricted and truncated
You built the wall and so you are barricaded
Take control of your fears and   face your challenges purposefully
Others do nor build wall, they let other in  and work in unity

Then I door opened  and  there was such a great light
Lighting my path  down the stairs that night
Then I realize that  in life keep that opened minded door
And in boundless  ideas and  other  things will flow.
