'Little Dog Lost'

Little dog lost, waiting to cross
Into a land where puppies live forever free,
Where fairies flit, and dance with glee
'Till time is lost, sun has set, and there begins its final rest.

Little dog lost, within warm meadows of golden bliss
Where angels fly among the mist
That hangs on high, within its realm,
To pacify all that it touches.

Little dog lost, waiting to play within the memories of yesterday
When all was fun, and fancy fair
Spent with those who gathered there,
All those, who will miss you.

Little dog lost, dear friend of mine who played with me in times so fine,
Who traveled many avenues, beneath the skies of sun kissed blue
While birds soared high, among the clouds,
Now angels sing their joyous songs for days anew
That's promised you, while their arms reach out.

~ There are many sad moments in a person's life,
one is that of watching a dear friend pass and this
also applies to our furry friends just as much as our human.
The subject in this poem has been a dear little friend of mine
for fifteen years. She is not mine, but we spent many wonderful,
happy times together in both sunshine, and rain.
"I will miss you, Lady." ~ R.B.
