What it is that you see
Take a Closer Look…
The beauty that we hold
Is not of flesh and skin
To see beyond the exterior
To the heart that lies within
Behold your reflection…
Dissecting ourselves in the mirror
On the supposed flaws we dwell
Too big, too tall, too short, too small
Disillusioned to the lies we tell
Perception is comprehension…
Accepting what society instills
Striving to be someone…other
When we must learn to love ourselves
Before we can truly love another
Self image is merely what we believe…
