HALLOWEEN

Please put a penny in the old man's hat
It's Halloween, all souls night.
Bright moonlit sky,
All souls watch as we celebrate
Witches sweeping along streets on plastic brooms
Knocking on our hearts.

Ask for a halfpenny, even an apple will do.
Night's sky exploding into glorious light
Highlighting transparent souls weeping into our dreams.
Old time memories precluding any harm
As each witch transmogrifies into our children.

All souls watching, and smiling
Dreaming their dreams of yesterday.
Please put a penny in the old man's hat
If you haven't got a penny a halfpenny will do.
If you haven't a halfpenny then God bless you.
It's Halloween, All Souls Night
