Once again mothers day approaches
Last time I saw Mom she was dying
No one in the room was crying
It was two days fifty four years
After the day of her birth
Six weeks earlier the Doctor said,
"Your Mom has cancer six weeks
maybe a couple more she will be dead."
Mom smiled said, "Take care of dad!"
You see to see Jesus she would be glad
There was no question she was going to heaven
For she had served her time in hell
She had been an orphan--abused wife
Few years of happiness in her life
She looked forward to be with Jesus
My step father was the only happiness
In a life filled in pain and wickedness
Yet she never complained thought of others
She was the peach of all of mothers
Through it all she raised sister and I
Would ask for forgiveness for sins up high
It was five in the morning called me to her side
"Kiss me Dandy--a time has come not denied!"
I said, "Mom, you are going to beat this thing."
But she let me know the bells for her did ring
When she introduced me to Jesus, yes in the room
Surrounded by her innocent love there was no gloom
The Nurse said, "You are right your Mom has died!"
Then he said, "But look a halo above her head."
And in my heart the meaning easily was read
Jesus had taken her to be one of his special Angels
On mothers day I will look up and the heaven's glows
Mother's day is still a special day for me
For to have my mother I can look up and see
In winter winds, summer tides, Mom waits in heaven
For Mom has not died she has just paved the way
And I know when I die I will see her again some day
