 'Inspiration In Thought'

'Sudden Darkness'

All kidding aside, it's with pride that I feel as I do,
For you, are the reason, and my muse
Why inspiration flows freely, but never so sweetly
As the time spent thinking of you.

Our love was bold, never old, for time allowed the freedom,
Of always seeking reason as to why it chose us two
To spin its web of desires, sparked with eternal fire
That lit the night ablaze with just its mention.

We embraced long into the night, as embers of delight
Smoldered soft, never far from sparks to ignite
Our passion into flames of love to scorch the highest sky,
Where indigo clouds drift onward, but never far from sight.

Ours was a love found in fairy-tales, a wood nymph, and her muse of passion
Upon the emerald moss lay we, lost, in each others' soulful eyes
'Till the dreams we shared became the life we celebrated every night,
Until the sudden darkness closed our playground.

~ A forest can be viewed in many ways. Some think it a dark,
frightful place where unforeseen horror lurks within each shadow.
Some become lost and disoriented, not knowing which way to turn,
or how to plot their course by merely looking for moss growing on
the north side of a tree. For me the forest is a peaceful, interesting
solitude of rest. One's imagination and inspiration for life itself
can freely flourish and strive. The images of just these thoughts
live within this poem, along with very special memories. ~ R.B.
