The Slump
A few years ago there was the evidence of a world wide gloom
There was a situation that seem to make Wall Street experts looked like buffoon
The renown and seemingly well touted impregnable financial institution
Was in this event placed in a very embarrassing situation.
To the uniformed this predicament would have seemed to be sudden
But those financial gurus with their expansive views knew the true position
Being privy to a trends, patterns and a multiplicity of financial information
Perhaps did not want to expose their colleagues in other institutions
Then came another shock, in countries far flung it was reeking havoc
Business seeing profits slumping, this brought to them a great shock
It was also manifested in Europe and later reach the oriental bloc
Seeing their exports reduced and so there was an increasing stock
There was this universal cry as there were job losses even more
Although workers were going perks were still being given to the CEO
Who in some estimation were the ones who fueled the situation
So why should they be compensated for their incompetent administration
Another situation that made some people cry was what they had put by
Was now null and void and they observed they pensions funds also running dry
Then some got takened by those who were crafty it seem, such charlatans
Invented scams where they were selling some virtual plans.
Fortuitously some government decided to inject billions
So as to bring some ray of salvation to their population's depressed millions
But what seems strange big corporation were also too in strains
So some of this money went a long way into easing their pain.
It has been a little time and some places say there is light at the tunnel
But try at they may the smaller economies are at the bottom of their barrel
In times when there was money around many did some borrowing
Now is this crisis they can see that their deficits are constantly growing.
