I've lived a life full or angry people
Full of lies and bruises

But once came a day that I found a boy
With eyes that capture the truth

He was sunshine
He took the ribbons off my wrists
My soul was free
He took the stitches out of my lips
My voice was heard
He tore out the bullets in my heart
It began to beat once again
Never once had I known such freedom
My eyes began to see truth
My lips began to find words
My soul found his
And we melted into each other
It didn't take long
No not long at all
Till I found myself speechless
My feet no longer glued to the ground
This boy I had never known before
Came from behind, with a sword
To defend me and a shield to protect me
He fastened wings of light onto my beaten shoulders
He kissed me, a kiss of life
and sent me into the sky

Gave me flight
And as we flew up in the clouds
He told me his story
Of pain and ache
Though he became strong

I saw in this boy a man
A man full of pride
And a bit of stubbornness
I saw in him a light left untouched
And I longed to touch his heart
in a way no one had before
Weeks went by
And he said the words that meant happiness to me
He rescued me many times
Without a cry of complaint
He bandaged my battle wounds
Nursed me back to health
Each time with more love then the last
Weeks became months
And it was clear to him that I was bound to him
That my heart beat at the pace of his
And that my soul was his
He's held me through the tears of acid
He's shown me the way through the fog
He's loved me when I hated to
This boy I found 8 months ago to this day
Showed this lost lonely girl
What it is to love
And be loved
