Once a boy came
With broken hands and broken tears
He looked up to God and said
Take away my fear
So the Lord gave him wings
So mighty and bright
So whenever this boy felt a tear
He could take off into the night
Once again the boy came
Now with a madness in his heart
He looked up to God again and said
Take away my anger
So the Lord gave him a smile
That no one could see past
So whenever the boy wanted to hide
All he had to do was laugh
Once again the boy came
Now with a broken trust in him
He looked up to God again and said
Take away the lies
So the Lord gave him amour
With gold flasks and silver plates
So whenever this boy sensed deceit
His amour repelled all the fakes
Now again the boy came
But with a broken heart and pain
He looked up to God again and said
Take away my sadness
But God could not take away this boys sadness
Nor fix his broken heart
So instead he bestowed upon the boy a prophecy
"Your heart is broken now, but one day a smile shall heal its all."
Now this boy was angry
How could God not mend his broken heart?
He walked off into a storm, and never went back again
Now this boy has become a man
With bills to pay and no time to lend
His heart still cried and ached
But through his life-he came to know this as fate
He would be alone forever, this man thought
And then he came to the idea
An angel of his own he sought
He searched long and hard
And nearly gave up
Until a girl came along
And played the right card
So he went to her
To find his angel
And when he saw her, he knew he had found her
In his heart there was no how or why
Cause when she smiled at him so bright and happy
He knew this new found Angel of his could fly
And through the days and weeks, every smile on her face-
His heart began to mend
And when all the pains were healed
She still held him and with her kisses,
The wounds had been healed
So now this man had a healed heart
And new found happiness looked up to God again and said
"Thank you Lord for my Sweet Angel"
And the Lord called out to him
"I told you once, and I'll tell you again,
I cannot fix a broken heart, but a smile on a true Love's face can..."
