once upon a time

IT MATTERS

It doesn’t matter what time
You were born, or when you
Wandered off to find a life.

It only matters that along
The way you did what was right.
All your partner and family needed,
You caused it to happen through hard work

In your time you were needed.
Now weary time supplants energy.
Loneliness, ages wicked weapon.
Staring at a T.V screen.

Then think, maybe I should walk.
Talk to people I meet, after all
The slight time I have left, might
matter. No gain in giving up, after all
A hello costs no effort, maybe cheer me up.
Hearing myself say, hello again,hello.
