Consternation

My efforts thus led to consternation
upon my attempt to answer thy plea
There one path ends in obliteration
as fragments then swiftly sail out to sea
Solid brick walls built with years of regret
falling to fashion a stepping stone way
With future in sight but not fully set
confusion sets in concerning what may
Minute by minute the time set too few
yet time in dutiful function pure bliss
Searching to find this perfection anew
and be sad to leave yet sadder to miss
So in consternation there I remain
'til a new stepping stone path shall be lain
