Changing Values
It is of no great surprise that in this era
Was are witnessing some changes in people's behavior
And what makes this such a very depressing matter
That this change is one that is not for the better.
Who could remember as a child going to school
There was always very set and basic household rule
That in any way never to bring anything to the home
Which in the first place you did not leave with, or was not your own
It was then the believe of every man living in that land
That supporting his family was his number one plan
So anyone who ever came by with any hit of a sort of charity
Was considered insulting and an affront on his capability
There are moments when you may have heard of a family member or friend's predicament
Instead of asking politely ,they act as thought they may have some unbridled entitlement
To what is yours and so you must willingly come to their rescue
Despite the trials, and financial stresses you may be going through
Could you remember that in those times you had to do a chore?
Today that seems not to be on children's timetable anymore
Some would sit and say those were in the old time day
Now as they age, the children they no attention in anyway pays
Then in those times having good manners was a touted feature
You had to be polite and respect anyone despite the character
And even if a situation arose where you had to be rude to anyone
An apology was offered even if your reason for your action was sound.
I have some friends said they have no sort of regret
In trying to make sure they children acquire some of the things the did not get
My response was yes if they act responsible, but my answer to that situation
And I would go all out to make that they get a much better education.
Today that deadly sin of greed, has cultivated a very demanding seed
Some people are addicted to many things and go to any length to satisfy that need
And certainly have no conscience nor think that it is any big deal
To think that if they want something that badly that the only process is to steal.
Now let us all take time to teach our children and those adolescent
That not having the latest gadget or technology is any form of disappointment
Parents do not try to hide form you children the true extent of your situation and wealth
Just let them know it takes planning and discipline , as well as some stealth
