I Dreamed of You
Many nights escaped me when
Younger days thoughts of you often
Would visit me but did not stay
Leaving much hunger that pains this day
Escape all mine in dreams tossing
The best of me with my heart crossing
Asking for He who makes all things
Brand new, make me more something
My heart became GPS malfunctioned
Failing to deal with its malfunction
Toss we did so many nights
Today seems different before your light
You whose writes deep caught my eyes
You who fixed broken, mended my sighs
Of hope and peace unknown to one
This prelude ours, yes just begun
The bond builds between two hearts
That failed one day broken in parts
Like puzzled me and yes you too
Life's greatest pain once love we knew
I dreamed of you what seems forever
Someone else would have the better
Part of you in dreams we had
Part of me of nightmares bad
Hungry hearts crave for warmth
Missed when love in heart it daunts
So we dreamed and asked for change
Praying for time to so rearrange
Years would pass us by, yes fast forward
Today becomes of you, now walk toward
The light that someone birthed for me
The one to change my destiny
Afraid I am to fall asleep
Afraid to lose what heart now keeps
A dream so real that I can touch
You dreamed of needed so much
