Lost in a Different State

The city and state where I was born
is different and truly great,
I felt lost, confused and alone
when I moved to another state.

I looked at many of the people
and thought of what to say,
I thought they were LDS too
but it didn't turn out that way.

I still gave a friendly "Hi!"
and didn't think it a flaw,
I knew at that very moment
that I was no longer in Utah.

While on my way to church
several buildings caught my eye,
it was hard to find the chapel
in the Montana city of Big Sky.

I stopped to ask directions
questioning many people around,
soon pointed in the right direction
where Mormons could be found.

I walked inside the LDS church
and with a smile took a seat,
I was no longer in the Utah valley
with a church just down the street.

I understand there is a difference
in another country or state,
I knew I wasn't in my hometown
when for church I showed up late.
