History Forgotten
Who chopped down the cherry tree?
of this story I was once aware,
could it be Abe Lincoln, or
George Washington as a dare?
I can't remember details
or if I have the person right,
Could it have been an Adams?
for I was never really bright.
Lost my smarts some time ago
after the history left my head,
I was taught a lot at school
and I listened to what was said.
It's been about twenty years
since I was in High School,
these days I can't help my kids
since my history is null.
I tried to help my Son one day
on homework that was sent,
he turned it in, we got it back
and got only thirty three percent.
