Return Hate With Kindness
When others gossip of my ways
and talk mean behind my back,
I will react to them with love
using a kind hearted attack.
I will turn the other cheek
and not be servant to the devil,
I am the better person
for not sinking to their level.
Some try to harm my reputation
and it brings me to my knees,
evil will not work on me
when it's God I want to please.
I say a prayer and tell my Lord
all the mean words that they say,
I put it peacefully in God's hands
to handle on the judgment day.
I don't have to face rude people
who try to bring me down,
I will keep happiness about me
and in my tears I will not drown.
If you face the same as me
don't hate and cause a fight,
if you give it straight to God
you'll be forever in His light.
