True Love Waits
My whole life turned upside down
in the past where my heart stays,
it was hard to let go of the memory
of my true love in many ways.
I was just sure he was the one
and it blinded me from the start,
He was treating me really bad
while I was seeing with my heart.
After we went our separate ways
my tears fell down like rain,
I couldn't get him out of my mind
and inside I felt much pain.
Then the day had finally come
when I was able to understand,
the one I thought was my true love
never wanted to hold my hand.
Even though it took several years
for me to open my heart's eye,
he was never worth the times
when I'd lay in my bed and cry.
If there is one thing I've learned
it would be that we never know,
and when we think that it's true love
there's truth that doesn't show.
Don't feel bad and cry those tears
when you are worth much more,
you will know your real true love
with a feeling you can't ignore.
Somebody there with a warm smile
and love will be your only sight,
even if you hurt right now
thinking that it was just right.
The past will close behind you
and with the present comes surprise,
you will feel so much better
and there will be no more goodbyes.
