Safe From the Storm
When life's rains come pouring down
and the funnel clouds take form,
a Father is there with much care
to protect his family from the storm.
Around us all an emotional mess
when the wind picks up poor feelings,
a Father's touch can overcome
and help all through their dealings.
The darkness works to bring us down
in the midst of a booming thunder,
arguments can raise up the waves
that are there to take us under.
Family struggles as the lightning
that strikes close to the ground,
with every flash a broken heart
when harmful gossip spreads around.
True evil works to ruin the family
and the tears fall with the rain,
rescued by a Father's enduring love
the same has stopped the pain.
A Father is the strength of the family
and he works to clear the storm,
he's always there to bring the peace
that will keep all calm and warm.
