Lamanites VS Nephites

The Book of Mormon takes
us to a place long ago,
on the American continents
a history we come to know.

Lehi was a Prophet of God
and his son Nephi chose right,
Lehi's sons Laman and Lemuel
refused to walk in God's light.

Over the course of time
the two groups would part,
the Lamanites and Nephites
were enemies from the start.

The Lamanites chose darkness
and God gave them a mark,
they were evil and rebellious
so their skin became dark.

They were also cursed
because they sought to kill,
they hated the Nephites
who followed God's will.

Between Lamanites and Nephites
many wars were fought,
the Nephites followed God's light
and the Lamanites did not.

At first the Nephites were
the ones that would obey,
in the end lost in darkness
they wouldn't even pray.

The Lamanites became righteous
and some had found God's light,
they had been a scourge to those
that wouldn't live life right.

The Book of Mormon is true
and its something we can share,
the Lamanites and Nephites
weren't the only heroes there.
