LEAVING HER
Awake in the night a throbbing ache
Where once he slept her heart now breaks
To the silent air filled with musk and pine
True love had survived, pure and divine
Snatched from her arms, she weeps for him
Salty tears caress but the pain will not dim
She wraps her form beneath his faded shirt
So near she feels though his leaving hurt
Not wanting to go he smiled a weak smile
And silently slipped, no attempt at denial
A hole now stretches where their love had lived
Black are the nights, her time to forgive
